Raíces en Crecimiento is my debut zine, which I worked on for a year as part of the Creative Capstone Cohort in high school, made with love and self-reflection. I am grateful to have been given the space to exercise my ideas into original work that I hold close to my heart. This project centers on photography, showcasing the perspective of transitioning from adolescence to adulthood, and honoring traditions. I projected my youth into the pages of this zine and showcased the growth that I have experienced in becoming a storyteller.
As a first-year Journalism and New Media Major at Mount Saint Mary's University, I have spent the past semester working on written projects that share narratives of artistic and BIPOC populations in Los Angeles. Moving forward, I plan to implement photography and columnist skills as a photojournalist, highlighting community engagement to Los Angeles audiences and beyond.
